It's time to move on to book number two - Submarine by Joe Dunthorne. This is a story about the woes of a 15 year old. It's also available as a film, I have a copy if anyone wants to borrow it.
It would be good, it you are keen, to set a date to meet up. Maybe in about a month, the end of May? What do you think?

First Meeting
It's time to discuss our White Woman and her Green Bicycle and move on. I have had a request to meet somewhere that does cake and coffee as well as beer, so how about Common? Still Sunday afternoon, about 2.30pm ish. Does this work? How are people set for a weeks time, is that the 26th? Please say yes (go on make a comment).

Right, sorted
It was July that I started talking about this. Wow. Oh well, think it is time to make some decisions, so here goes, a book group for the new year. I propose we meet at Port St, I was thinking a week night, but that might get tricky, how about a Sunday afternoon? Well not a great start on the decisions, but discuss what you think is best. Either way, we have Christmas reading time so I reckon the first gathering should be about the second week of January. But what are we reading I hear you say. Ta da!
January: The White Woman on the Green Bicycle, Monique Roffey
March: Submarine, Joe Dunthorne
May: Mr Pip, Lloyd Jones
July: The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Milan Kundera
I have a couple of spare copies of that first book so will circulate them around. (Thanks for your patience.)

The beginning of something great?
Not sure who I mentioned this to, but I fancy starting up a reading group. Idea being to pick some books, get together every couple of months and discuss the book of the moment. Interested?
In the spirit of being a bit more inclusive (and very old school at the same time), I thought we might try a group blogging exercise. Long, random, rambles welcome. I have tried to set it up so that you have access to author posts (you know who you are).
Anyway books. I think we're looking for good, honest, novels. Don't know anything about it, but this one was on the Orange list last year and has a good name:
or something classic?
The Catcher in the Rye, JD Salinger
I don't know, over to you...
